Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) and Galaxy J7 (2017) smartphones launched


NEW DELHI: South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung has launched the 2017 variants of its Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones in Europe. Dubbed Galaxy J5 (2017) and Galaxy J7 (2017), the smartphones are priced at $304 and $332 respectively. Both are available in Black and Gold colour options.

Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) comes with a 5.2-inch HD Super AMOLED display of 720x1280 pixel resolution. The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC, paired with 2GB of RAM. There's 16GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 256GB in size.

The smartphone has two 13MP cameras, one each at the front and the back. Having a fingerprint sensor and a 3,000mAh battery, the Galaxy J5 (2017) offers 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as major connectivity options.
On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) features a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display of 1080x1920 pixel resolution. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, paired with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 16GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 256GB in size.


Imaging duties are handled by two 13MP cameras, one each at the front and the back. The dual-SIM smartphone comes with a fingerprint sensor and houses a 3,600mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options.

Under the three-day sale, customers can avail a discount of up to Rs 4,000 on smartphones and up to 20% off on TVs and ACs.
