Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus smartphones launched at MWC 2017: Price, specifications and more



The much-awaited Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones made their debut at Mobile World Congress 2017 (MWC 2017) event in Barcelona, Spain, today. Both Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones are successor to the company's last year-launched Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones respectively.The mid-range smartphones are among the company's best sellers. The smartphones are known to offer premium features at affordable prices. While Moto G5 sports 5-inch screen, its bigger sibling Moto G5 Plus packs a 5.2-inch screen. Both the screens offer the same FullHD resolution.
Both the smartphones come with the same 2GB RAM. Both, however, support microSD card of up to 256GB through the hybrid microSD slot.


Last year, the key difference between Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus was in the presence of finger-print sensor and better camera in the latter. Moto G4 Plus boasts of finger-print sensor in the front. Also, Moto G4 boasts of 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, while Moto G4 Plus has 16MP camera at the back and 5MP in the front.This year the difference between the two smartphones is bigger. Moto G5 has 32GB storage in-built, while G5 Plus comes with 64GB storage. Similarly, while Moto G5 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, the Moto G5 Plus runs on Snapdragon 625.The two smartphones also have different battery capacities. Moto G5 packs 2,800 mAh battery, for G5 Plus it is 3,000 mAh. As for the camera, G5 Plus has better camera with a 12-megapixel images sensor that claimed to be bigger in size than Moto G5's. In the front, both the smartphones have 5MP camera.Both the smartphones with run on Google's latest operating system, Android Nougat. As for the pricing, while Moto G5 is priced at 199 euros, it is 299 euros for Moto G5 Plus.The duo are expected to launch in the Indian market in the coming weeks. Reports suggest that the two phones may launch in India as soon as March this year.
